Solar System

The solar system refers to the star and all the objects thats travel around it.Our solar system consists of the Sun and eight planets which revolve around the Sun in their orbits.

Mercury is the planet closest to the Sun and Neptune is the planet farthest from the Sun. The four inner planets (nearest planet from the Sun) i.e.

Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are composed of rocks and metals The outer (four outer planets from the Sun) i.e. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are composed of hydrogen and helium gases.

1:- Mercury

Mercury is the smallest planet of solar system. It is closest to the Sun. The surface of Mercury consists of rocks. Below the rocky layer, most of the planet comprises of iron. Mercury has no Moons. It has no environment and no water.

2:- Venus

Venus and the Earth are same in size and large scale. Venus is very hot planet because it is covered with very thick douds of carbon dioxide that trap the heat of Sun. Venus is also the brightest planet as its clouds reflect sunlight. Venus has no Moon like Mercury.

3:- Earth

Earth is the third planet in solar system.it is the planet that supports life. Earth has the abundance of water. Water covers 70% of Earth.

The Moon is the Earth's natural satellite. The surface of Earth is made up of water, air and solid ground. It contains other gases like nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases.

4:- Mars

Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. Mars is very similar to Earth in term of season and soil texture, but the atmosphere of Mars has very little Oxygen and water vapours (Mars has two Moons / Mars is so called red planet due to its reddish colour. Its colour is due to the layers of iron rich dust.

5:- Jupiter

Jupiter is the fifth planet in the solar system And It is the largest planet. It is like a star and is made up of mostly gaseous clouds composed of hydrogen and helium.

Such gaseous clouds create storms. At the top of the clouds, Jupiter's temperature is very cold while at the core it is hotter than the surface of the Sun. Jupiter has 63 moons.

6:- Saturn

Saturn is the sixth stars.And the second largest planet in the solar system. Saturn is also made up of gases like hydrogen and helium.

Saturnis unique as it has large visible rings, which are made up of billions of snowballs. These rings are about 302.000 km in diameter.

7:- Uranus

This is the seventh Planet in the Solar system.It is the third largest planet. It looks bluish green in colour as it has methane gas in addition to hydrogen and helium in its atmosphere. Uranus has 27 moons, five of which are large.

8:- Neptune

This is the eight Planet in the Solar system.Neptune and Uranus are very much alike and are mostly known as twin giants as they are about the same size and colour. Neptune has very cold water layer around the molten rock core. Neptune has 13 moons.
